Welcome to The PhD Project AHEAD - Achieving Higher Education Administration Diversity.
The PhD Project has more than tripled the number of minority business faculty in U.S. schools from just 294 in 1994 to over 1,050 today. But our work is not done. Finding fewer than 25 African-American, Hispanic American and Native American Deans at non-HBCU business schools in the U.S., the need to now focus on creating administrative diversity has become evident. Project AHEAD encourages tenured minority faculty to explore positions in administration. Following The PhD Project model, this program will offer resources and support by hosting webinars and providing mentors to help members on this path.
The first webinar for Aspiring Administrators will be facilitated by Craig M. McAllaster, Dean of the Roy E. Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College and Lynne D. Richardson, Dean of the College of Business and Industry at Mississippi State University, and will answer these questions:
- What's the status of diversity in dean ranks today?
- Why would anyone want to leave the faculty ranks for administration?
- What are the positives and negatives of such a move?
- What does an administrator DO all day?
The webinar can be viewed at: http://meeting.hodes.com/p41221778/
